Still, we get to see a little deeper into all of these characters. Locke continues to be a piece of garbage. There are still tensions between Jude and her father and sister. We get to see Cardan as a king, and Jude struggling to keep him under control. The Wicked King welcomes us back several months after we left. I’m already desperate for The Queen of Nothing to come out. There are few books that really make me fall in love like this. I never wanted to put this book down, even when I’d already had a long day. It’s rare for me to be just as deeply in love with a sequel as I am with the first book, but The Wicked King is just as fantastic as The Cruel Prince.
